al dente-n. Food, esp. pasta, cooked to retain somewhat firm texture.

 

bag-n. Informal. One's specialty; that which one does well or likes to do; one's typical way of life.

 

clout-n. Influence; the power to affect (usu. political) decisions; pull: people with money.

 

macho-a. Possessing masculine characteristics to a marked degree, esp. a sense of superiority over women.

 

nonaligned-a. Not allied with other countries, esp. not with the Communist or non-Communist blocs: nonaligned nations.

 

Here is one that most of you probably will not get.

 

TA-n. A teaching assistant, usu. at a university or college.
